Dr. Ilaria Vergine

Dr. Ilaria Vergine is a postdoctoral researcher in social psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore) in Milan. She is a member of PsiCom – Research Center for the Psychology of Communication. Her doctoral dissertation, entitled “Communicative (Inter)Actions and Identity in Mixed-Reality Environments: A Methodological Proposal,” focuses on communicative interaction, identity dynamics, and culture in technologically-mediated environments.

Her recent research has focused on these topics in the context of radicalization processes, particularly within the framework of the Horizon 2020 project CounteR (Grant Agreement No. 101021607). She has authored publications and reports on identity dynamics, with an emphasis on radicalized subjectivity in digital environments (for example, the report “Constructing Online Subjectivities in Two Radicalized Ecosystems: A Practical Application of a Theoretical Perspective,” presented at the 27th Annual Conference on Cyberpsychology, Cybertherapy, and Social Media).
